I Can Do ALL Things Through Him

Not Today Satan

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness is the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

This morning was a chaotic tumbling series of events. I had to be at work early. The hubby had to be at work early. Breakfast was nonexistent and he couldn’t find clean socks. We just could not get it together. To make matters worse, my usually quiet and peaceful early morning time with Jesus was completely disrupted. I had to stop off and on to get him out the door before I was able to have a quiet minute to myself. But of course, then it was time for me to get ready. I just wanted to slam my bible shut and forget it for the day. Anyone else ever have one of the mornings, nights or days???

So I did the only thing I knew to do. I took a deep breath and prayed. I slowly felt my frustration falling away and I was determined to get in at least a little reading in even if I couldn’t dive deep in and study like I normally do. It just so happened that today’s chapter was one of my favorite bible stories. The story of Saul’s Damascus Road conversion. I love the fact that Jesus spoke to a persecutor of Christians and immediately Saul was converted. This story isn’t the subject of this blog, but just know my reading this morning blessed me.

The point is Satan tried to distract me. He tried his best to divert my attention and my focus. He tried to keep me from the blessing of reading God’s word. And sadly, it almost worked on me. Beware! It can work on you too if you let it. So we have to be vigilant. As it says in Ephesians, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. We are fighting a spiritual war and Satan WILL fight dirty to try and win it.

So we have to remain focused. If we get frustrated or things become chaotic, or you don’t have you usual quiet time or space, (and YES I am a little OCD about this lol) you can still take the time to say a quick prayer. Pray for God to help you calm or pray a verse or two to Him. I am learning to pray His word back to Him. One of my favorites??

Psalms 61:2 “From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

So when you start to have one of those mornings, afternoons, nights or even just one of those moments….Stop, breathe and pray. Watch things start to turn around. πŸ™‚

Psalms 138:1 “I will praise you with my whole heart…”

**Side note: Just another example of how Satan works. I wrote this and then it only saved half. I had to rewrite the last half :/
