I Can Do ALL Things Through Him

Teamwork Makes The Dreamwork….

Corny….I know…

But we can all agree it’s true.

Sometimes, in the church, one may start to think of themselves as the glue, the nail or the tape holding the church together. One may take the praises of others too much to heart.

“What a great sermon!” “What a great song!” “What a great lesson!” “You are great at organizing our activities!”

Those things can sometimes go to our heads!

On the other side of this, one may give too much credit to one person in the church. Maybe they come to church because of who preaches or who is a deacon or who sings in the choir. If that person moved on, so would you. God is nowhere in the mix.

Paul gave us a warning against this in 1 Corinthians. He told us that we all WORK TOGETHER to further the kingdom of God. He told us to all focus on God and not people.

He tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:5 “that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

There should be no jealousy, no contentions among us. We all have one common goal. We all come to worship the same God.

1 Corinthians 3:6-7 “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.”

So no matter what our job, position or gift in the church may be, it is God who moves. It is God who saves. It is God who gives the increase.

So we should work together, worship together and open up our hearts and minds together so that God will move and give the increase He so desires to give! 💜
