Yes, I know, that’s not the correct verse. But what can I say, I LOVE sunflowers. They are my absolute favorite!

I heard a story once, that when it isn’t sunny, the sunflowers face each other for energy and support. It’s a comforting thought, but upon research, I found out that it isn’t true.

However! They DO follow the sun.

In the morning they face east, and throughout the day, they slowly turn towards the direction of the sun.

Until they mature and are ready to be harvested, then they strictly face east. I find that interesting.

I’m sure you can find a perfectly scientific explanation for this, but I know that God made them this way.

For us to consider…

We should be like the sunflowers. We should follow the “Son” no matter what direction He is in. We should always face Him so that we can grow and mature, as the sunflower does.

As we mature, we start to constantly face east, waiting for our harvest. Waiting for the day when Jesus will break that eastern sky and rapture us home.

And what a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see!

Man I want to just jump out of my recliner and look up to Heaven when I think about it! You should too!

Every time I see a sunflower, I am reminded to seek the Son no matter where I am.
