Tell me I’m wrong! Because man it does!
I got braces yesterday. Yes, almost 50 years old and I’m sitting in an office surrounded by mostly teenagers and I’m getting braces. Not my idea of a good time.
AND IT HURTS!
My mouth hurts, my teeth hurt and I just want to go back and be like “Hey, yank these things off!”
Why did I do it???
Because in the end, it will correct a bigger, ongoing problem. In the end, it will mold my teeth to where they need to be. In the end, it will make it better than before.
God is like that. Sometimes, He will bring us through painful things, knowing that we will come out better on the other side. He uses the hurt to mold us into the person He created us to be.
My friends, sometimes we may not even know why or see the reason right away. I will have my braces for two years. That’s a long time to wait on results. But during that two years, things will move into place and I will gradually see a difference.
Sometimes, we just have to go through these things.
I lost my mother. It was PAINFUL. I still will never understand the reason why. But 20 years later, God sent me a beautiful sister in law who experienced the same hurt. I was able to be there for her and understand the hurt she was experiencing.
That painful experience, even though I will ALWAYS wish I did not have to go through, gave me the insight to help someone else. So in that one way, it made me a better comforter to those around me.
Remember that God ALWAYS knows what He is doing. Though it may be painful, the season will pass and you WILL come out better on the other side.
1 Peter 5:10 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.”
Until next time…
***I will not have a blog next week as I will be leaving for a woman’s retreat out of town. Please keep us in your prayers for traveling mercies and that we will receive a blessing as we are there.***
