Picture it…10 years old, sitting in a pew on a summer morning, pledging allegiance to the flag and singing songs out of a small paper booklet.

Then the fun started. Lessons about Jesus and crafts and of course we can’t forget the cheap cookies and koolaid!

VBS! It was always so much fun. So many memories created there and so much we heard and learned about Jesus!

My mom was part of it as well as teachers that taught her in VBS and Sunday school. They we’re leaving us a memory. A legacy of Him.

I can’t remember a summer without Vacation Bible School.

Now, I can’t remember seeing any VBS posters or announcements this past summer.

I look around at the world around us. I look at the phones and tablets and TVs that are babysitting our kids today instead of popsicle jewelry boxes and stories of Daniel and Moses.

We are becoming too busy to leave the legacy we should be leaving to the next generation.

We are becoming to busy to “bother” teaching the next generation about Him.

My friends, something needs to change. Our children need to hear and know about our Lord. They won’t hear it from the world so it is up to us.
