I Can Do ALL Things Through Him

Too Bad For God…

How many of you have ever thought that? I know I have a some point or another in my life.

I have thought back to the things of my past and wondered how God could ever use me to do any good.

How could he use someone who turned away from Him in the past to witness to others today? Doesn’t that make Him look bad??

Nope. Quite the opposite.

Jacob was a man of God. He was the father of the 12 tribes of Israel.

But he had a past.

Beginning in the womb Jacob struggled with his twin brother, Esau. As they were delivered, he grabbed hold of Esau’s heel to try and get out first.

To receive the blessing that was reserved for the first born, he deceived his dying father by pretending to be his brother. And it worked!

He received the blessing. But had to go on the run for his life.

Esau wanted to kill him. (Hey I probably would too if my sisters stole my blessings!) 😁

All these lies and deceptions make Jacob look pretty bad, huh?

But God’s plans are always His plans. He had a purpose for Jacob that began in the womb. (But that’s blog for another day)

Fast forward a few years and we see Jacob as a devout man of God. A man who fathered the 12 tribes of Israel.

In fact, God blessed Jacob in Genesis 35:10, saying, “Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be your name.”

I highly recommend reading Jacob’s story. In fact, the Bible is a book you just won’t want to put down once you get started. 😉

Friends, what I’m trying to convey today is that we are NEVER too bad for God to use. We are NEVER so far gone that He can’t bring us back.

Did Jacob have consequences for his actions? Absolutely!

But did God redeem him and use him? Absolutely!

And He can do the same for you.

So never think you’re “too bad for God”.

God will prove you wrong. 🙂

Until next time…
