Do you ever feel like God has not heard you? Do you ever fear that you have lost your connection with Him?
There are times when I pray and it seems like my prayers just hit the ceiling and bounce back to me.
Where are You God? Why haven’t You answered me? Why can I not feel You listening to me?
It’s a frustrating and discouraging feeling. It will make you doubt yourself, your faith and sometime, even God.
There’s a song I heard this week called “Don’t Stop Praying” by Matthew West.
A line in the chorus echos in my mind.
“Keep on pounding on Heaven’s door And let your knees wear out the floor”
I felt this song in every fiber of my being. I felt the desperation and the urgency to reach Heaven.
Sometimes…
You just HAVE TO KEEP PRAYING!
Pray as you get ready. Pray as you drive to work. Pray as you greet the next patient, customer or whomever you have contact with.
JUST DON’T STOP PRAYING.
In Daniel, chapter 10, Daniel prayed and prayed and no answer came. He kept on praying and fasting with no answer.
FINALLY…after 21 days he heard from Heaven.
An angel had been dispatched by God to help Daniel, but was fought by one of satan’s angels. God’s angel prevailed and told Daniel, “I heard you from the very first day. From the very first cry of your heart.” (Daniel 10:12)
Daniel did not stop praying. And his answer came.
Are you in your “21 days” right now?
Are you in a season of frustration or doubt? Are you wondering if God even hears you?
My friends, don’t stop praying!
Keep pounding on that door to Heaven. Stay on your knees. You never know if your help is being fought as Daniel’s help was.
Until next time…
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “pray without ceasing.”
