Everyone has a “one day” throughout their lives.
One day, I’ll be able to play outside by myself.
One day, when we’re older, we will be able to make our own decisions.
One day, when we’re older, we won’t be forced to go to school every day.
As time goes by and we get older, the “one days” have all of a sudden happened.
We get into our own homes, and while we no longer have to go to school every day, we’ve traded it for the everyday workday.
Then the kids come, and all of sudden, the “one days” come and go even faster.
As we’re expecting, we think, “One day soon, I’ll finally get to hold you.”
Then, before you know it, you’re thinking, “One day soon, you’ll start walking.”
Fast forward for what feels like a quick second, and you’re realizing all the “one days” have come and gone.
You realize that “one day” you waited up for your kid to come home for the last time before they had their own home to go to.
You realize that “one day”, you heard your grandparents or your parents’ voice for the last time.
You realize that “one day” you woke up next to your person for the last time.
If we knew how quickly the “one day” would come, we would have savored it, enjoyed it, and soaked it all in a little more.
But there’s another “one day” coming.
One day, we will leave this life. Whether we pass from this life or whether we meet Jesus when He comes back, our “one day” is coming.
Be ready. Don’t let this “one day” catch you off guard. It is the “one day” you will need to be most prepared for.
Don’t be left here realizing that the most important “one day” has come and gone and you’ve missed it.
Until next time…
