Sometimes it’s hard to find the beauty in life. 

We struggle.  We have hurt.  We have pain.  We have sickness and lose loved ones. 

Sometimes the hard times seem to overshadow everything else and we wonder why. 

Sometimes there’s an overwhelming sadness in your soul that just wipes all other emotions away.  

Why do we feel this way?  Why do we struggle to find happiness?  Why do we struggle to find peace?

Maybe because we are looking in the wrong places.  

We expect happiness and beauty to be in the good places, in the good times and the good days of our lives.  Are we wrong?  Not at all!  We have those days and those times.  

But what if some of our most beautiful moments come from the other times in our lives?  What if our most beautiful blessings come from the ashes of our most devastating times?

Across the street from our church, a beautiful old home burned to the ground.   There is nothing left of it now but a few stones and rubble in a pile.  It was completely destroyed. 

But now, a few months later, there is a field of beautiful flowers there.   Beauty from the ashes. 

Does the beauty of the flowers take from the devastation of the fire?  Absolutely not.

It just shows that new life can come even in the rubble of our old lives.   It shows that God can bring beauty to the field of ashes in our lives. 

Remember that when you are going through the fire.  He has not forgotten you and He will bring beauty back into your life.  Just look for it.   Find the beauty…
