I Can Do ALL Things Through Him

Did I Do That?

Ok…tell me someone read that title in their best Urkel voice. Please?? If you don’t know what I’m talking about…well I must be getting old lol. 😀

Seriously though. Have you ever asked yourself that? Have you ever looked back and thought “wow” at some of the things you did? If you haven’t, consider yourself blessed. Although, I would wage that, like me, most of you have asked yourself that question a time or two. Again, if you’re like me, some of the things that you think about may make you want to cringe just a little. Maybe hoping that God didn’t happen to catch that. Eh….nope. He did.

Well, now that I just called us all out, I’ll tell you why. I know we’ve all heard the old saying, “Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven”. There was probably a time when I rolled my eyes at this and thought it sounded pretty cheesy. But you know what? It’s true. It’s simple and so very true. We aren’t perfect. Lord knows I am far from it. But the good news is, I AM forgiven! No matter what I have done, He knows it all and still loves and forgives me. He can do that same for anyone who calls on Him.

Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord SHALL be saved”.

Not could be or might be or we’ll see after we take a look at your history, but SHALL be! It can’t be that simple, can it? Yes! It is. Psalms 103:12 says “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Jesus died for us so that we could be saved. He took our sin upon Himself so that we could be with Him in Heaven one day.

Judas betrayed our Savior. But Jesus would have forgiven him had he only seeked and asked. Peter denied our Savior. Jesus forgave him. Peter went on to preach the gospel to thousands and bring them to Jesus. Paul persecuted and killed Christians. Yet Jesus met him on that Damascus Road and changed his life. Paul was to become one of Jesus greatest witnesses.

My point?

Don’t think whatever you have done in your past is too bad or too much for Jesus to forgive. If you fall to your knees and ask Him, He will wash you as white as snow. He will remove your sins as far as the east is from the west.

So when you look back and ask yourself, “did I do that?”, you can confidently say “Yes, I did but my Jesus has saved and forgiven me, and I am a new person in Him!”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!”
