All things work together for good…that’s what the verse says.

But sometimes things happen and we wonder…”God how can this be good???”. Our hearts are breaking. Our fear is more than we can handle. Our doubt is rising higher than we can reach.

Again….How can this be good??

A friend’s mother was admitted to the hospital. She was in a regular room being treated for pneumonia. My friend knew something was off but, hey, we have to trust the doctors know what their doing, right?

Then a few days after being admitted, she stopped breathing. She was rushed to the critical care unit and the family thought they were losing her.

As those who follow me know, I’ve been there, done that, and it is TERRIFYING and HEARTBREAKING!

I was called on to pray. And I did, earnestly and without ceasing.

Again….how can this be good???

But guess what? In the unit, doctors discovered the root of her problem, the real issue! And now she is on the mend. She is getting better. Out of the woods? Not yet. But she’s getting there. Do I know what the future will hold? No, but for now, in the present, things are better.

And we never would have known the problem had she not coded and been moved to the unit. Wow. My God works in ways we will never understand. But we are eternally grateful for.

Now, would it be better if she had never gotten sick and this never happened. Absolutely! But if it did happen, I’m so glad my God works miracles through what we feel is devastating at the moment!

My friends, this could also be a testimony to the power of prayer, but we’ll save that for another day.
